Next Australian VLab CoE Regional Focus Group meeting 17th December 2024

The next Australian VLab Centre of Excellence Regional Focus Group meeting is scheduled for 02UTC, 17th December 2024.  

The topic of the meeting is "A summary of the most Significant or Favourite Events of the Year 2024 as revealed in Satellite Imagery".

Presentations are as follows:

  • A Quadruplet of Tropical Cyclones over the Western Pacific during the Winter Season (Danice Yin Lam NG, Hong Kong Observatory, China, facilitated by Bodo Zeschke).
  • Whakaari / White Island 2024 Eruptions (facilitator Ashlee Parkes, MetService New Zealand).
  • Always use as much satellite information as possible (facilitator Scott Lindstrom, SSEC University of Wisconsin Madison).
  • Analysis of Puting Beliung Rancaekek, Bandung, West Java by using Geostationary Satellite (facilitator Rion Salman, Indonesian VLab Centre of Excellence).
  • Seasonal Colour Change of the forest in True Color Reproduction (TCR) Imagery (recording facilitated by Shiro Ohmori, Japan Meteorological Agency)
