Science Week 2013 - Advanced Forecaster Course

Online sessions pertaining to the latest developments in meteorological science with respect to operational forecasting. Hosted by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology Training Centre.


The course is complimentary to employees of International Government Meteorological Agencies.

There is no cost involved in attending the remote presentations of "Science Week" for employees of International Government Meteorological Agencies.
Science Week will be conducted from the 22nd to the 26th July 2013 using the Webinar software.
This means that you can participate in the Course from your PC in your Forecasting Centre.
You will need headphone and speaker.
I have included the System Requirements for participating in the Webinar sessions below.

I will let you know of the Science Week Internet page soon. This will contain the timetable and the links that you will need to access in order to attend the sessions.

System requirements for attending a Webinar session

For PC-based participants:
Internet Explorer 7.0 or newer, Mozilla Firefox 4.0 or newer or Google Chrome 5.0 or newer (JavaScript enabled)
Windows 8, 7, Vista, XP or 2003 Server
Cable modem, DSL, or better Internet connection
Dual-core 2.4GHz CPU or faster with 2GB of RAM (recommended)

For Mac-based participants:
Safari 3.0 or newer, Firefox 4.0 or newer or Google Chrome 5.0 or newer (JavaScript enabled)
Mac OS X 10.6 – Snow Leopard or newer
Intel processor (1GB of RAM or better recommended)
Cable modem, DSL, ocan r better Internet connection

Hi Bodo,

this is a very interesting course for me. But in this time we have our summer holiday, so it is not possible to participate live. But is it possible, that you give me the permission for the recordings?

This would be great.

Thank you for your interest in Science Week.
Recordings of many of the sessions will be available after the course.
