The content of this page gives information about the characteristics of
the PC you need to use to consult this CAL and provides you with the required
software to obtain a correct behaviour of this program.
The
ANASYG-PRESYG CAL on this CD-ROM can be used with every multimedia PC having
the following minimal characteristics :
- Pentium 166 Processor
- 32 Mo RAM
- CD-ROM drive 4X
- Screen : 1024 x 768 pixels in millions of colors
- Mouse
- Windows Operating System (95, 98, NT)
It is
not necessary to have a sound card nor any specific plug-in. The access to
the html pages being done directly from the CD-ROM, no supplementary disk space
is needed.
In order
to browse the CAL it is necessary to have a relatively recent version of a
current browser. This CAL has been tested with Netscape
Communicator version 4.5 and 4.7. If you do not have any of these
browsers you can download Netscape Navigator Version
4.08 (in english) from the present CD-ROM and implement it by following the
instructions displayed on the screen during the installation process.
When using Internet Explorer 5 this CAL can also
be visualized.
Nevertheless, with all of these browsers, it is necessary to have on your PC a
"local server", in order to use all the potential of the CAL.
A free local
server easy to implement and to configure, XITAMI, is proposed on this CD-ROM.
You
can download
the local server XITAMI from this CD-ROM and
implement it on your PC by following the instruction displayed on your screen
by the installation program. The implementation is relatively simple : click
on "next" after every
question and do not forget to choose a user name (admin for example) and a
password (*) which will allow you to configure the server.
After having implemented
the local server XITAMI on your
PC, you need then to configure XITAMI to specify the files you
want to access through this local server.
Launch
your browser and insert the adress http://127.0.0.1/cdrom.
You will probably display the CAL home page. You only have to add this adress
to your bookmarks.
If the icon X is not present in the in the
taskbar near the clock (bottom right) you have to launch first the local
server (by clicking on Xitami Web Server which should be included in the
menu Start) before launching the browser.
